RESEARCH ALERT-J.P Morgan raises Sprint PCS
NEW YORK, Oct 18 (Reuters) - J.P. Morgan raised its investment rating on Sprint PCS Group
(NYSE:PCS - news) to buy from long-term buy, the investment firm said on Monday.

-- Year-end 2000 target priced upped to $90 from $80.

-- Sprint is well positioned to take advantage of upside industry projections with its national wireless
platform, strong distribution and robust CDMA technology.

-- Further upside potential over the next year may be realized during the next six to nine months from
Sprint's wireless Web initiatives, acceleration of subscriber growth from MCI WorldCom Inc.'s
(NasdaqNM:WCOM - news) and the potential acceleration of industry growth that should foster further
upside for PCS.
