STILLWATER Q3 PLATINUM, PALLADIUM OUTPUT DOWN 17% VS YEAR AGO New York--Oct 15--Stillwater Mining Co. said today its third-quarter platinum and palladium production was 94,000 ounces, below expectations and 17% less than the 113,000 ounces produced in the 1998 third quarter. The company also said its plan to expand the Stillwater Mine has slipped by about 9 to 12 months, but the East Boulder project is on schedule. (Story .16724) crbindex.com
