I agree with your post. I guess the subtext of my post is that there are some professions where (for lack of a better term) "pandering to the public" is a part of the job. These are sports figures and politicians, civil servants, etc. And these are the people you always see referred to as praying to god. Astronauts, presidents when shot etc. I have to wonder how many of them are actually praying to god vs. posturing as some sort of PR move. You never hear of anyone in the corporate world praying for much of anything, at least that I can recall.
