Good article my only thought is that for those bold enough to think they can outperform the market then given you understand the risks, concentration can be the difference given the ability of the stock picker. Sector analysis in particular is a powerful tool. There is a tradeoff with most things. Speed vs Security and so forth. It's mainly a matter of getting the right mix.

Fundamentaly, I don't bow down to the Random Walk theory and I do not believe that stocks are always rationally priced. Because of this I see an inherent flaw in the thinking of the article's writer. I see an opportunity to make outsized gains and I take it and have been doing it for quite some time.

At the same instance, I can not fault his position given his assumptions and theory upon which he basis his actions. Buying Index funds is a valid way to accumulate wealth in the long run. It's just not the route I want to take.
