IMO, you are right about Gates & Jobs, but not about those football players (whom I personally have never heard of). In what way are/were these guys influential? How have they changed our lives? Why should we choose those two, as against all the other zillions of good football players? Perhaps you should nominate the game itself, rather than any particular individual who plays it. I personally would cast my vote for MR. FOOTBALL -- I have felt his influence. That is, he has certainly ruined enough Thanksgiving dinners for me! (Try squeezing a turkey in during half-time, and you'll see what I mean.)
