I found this tidbit there as well... mp3.com We also learned from Thomson that the Lyra, contrary to earlier press releases, will not support IBM's microdrive. This device, while expensive, would make it possible for consumers to store a few hundred MB of song files. "It simply sucks too much power," Arland said. "Using microdrive, you would have about 10 minutes of playtime, and we didn't feel that was good enough for what people are expecting in a portable player.
