Re: CTXS 99Q3 CC Notes

Thread,
The one hour CC has just concluded. I listened to it in it's entirety. It was similar to the others but they did not botch the revenue figure explanations this time. It was very clear as promised. Their bread&butter Application Server revenue is up 14% sequentially. A very good sign.

They spent a lot more time explaining how MetaFrame is a Y2K SOLUTION and not a problem. They almost went as far as saying they see an acceleration in sales due to Y2K fears, but held back. I'm sure they are being careful because of liability concerns. But you could almost sense they wanted to say it appears to be a positive driver of sales.

--There are still no revenues from the ASP market. They won't see any until at least mid-2000. But they sure spent a lot of time talking about it. I guess they see something on the horizon but don't want to speculate at this point.

--International is up 5% sequentially. They seemed pretty excited about this. I think because they are going to start going after the international market more heavily.

--They still have a ton of cash. $640 million right now.

--Right now there are 15,000,000 ICA users.

--Right now there are (FWIW??) 3,500,000 concurrent ICA users.

--Have their foot in the door on just about every Fortune 500 company. That foot should lead to good things later on.

--Win2000 is an opportunity. Again didn't exactly say why? Now I'm guessing they are careful with their words because they don't want to offend Microsoft. I really think they believe MetaFrame is better, but don't want to come out and say it.

--There are 100 firms out there that license ICA. So that means 100 companies can make products to take computing independent. I believe there are 700,000 products (I'm not referring to desktops) out there using ICA right now.

--Said the expiration of the 2-1/2 year old MSFT agreement next month was a non-event.

Something doesn't seem right? For the first time, I understood everything they said <G>.
