**** OFF TOPIC ****

Obviously everyone approaches a certain scenario with his/her own spin.

I just took exception to an armchair quarterback using the unfortunate situation of BXM to state unequivocably "the costs of bad science are painfully high."

It's been a while since I was in the classroom ... but am happily looking forward to graduation ceremonies for my daughter this year. The difference between my education at the same University and hers over a 20 period are remarkable. As I recall, at least half of my classes were taught by full Professors. I don't think she saw anything but a TA during the entire 4 years.

Why? Because the full Profs were being mandated to "Publish or Perish" ... or spent their time chasing grant money for "research" ... or "Basic science ---- guardian of the scientific method and objective enquiry".

In the real world where Walsh and especially Felderhoff existed ... they had a mandate by economics and shareholders to show some results ... with all possible expediency.

From what I've read, a very clear decision was made by JF regarding sampling and assay procedures which were specific to the Busang mineralization. Further, considering the rigid sampling procedures which did/do allow for archiving sample sizes and the "replicating sampling and analysis before results are considered reliable" ... JF has set up a system for accountability. For some Prof. who is living in an ivory tower ... dreaming of where his next research grant is coming from ... and dwelling on esoteric "scientific method" norms ...

Sorry ... I don't buy it.

Apologies to all our friends who are hard working educators, struggling with limited budgets, plaigaristic students and insensitive Boards of Education ...
