This is totally subjective, of course - but he wrote the greatest music ever performed.
On a less subjective level, if you ask students of music to rate Great Composers, Stravinsky invariably ends up on the short list. Not many 20th century composers do. And too many of those are century straddlers. Ravel? Debussy? Prokofiev?
