Re Joplin, artists and role models

>>>bill, do you know what song that Larry Norman wrote in response to a meeting he had backstage with Janis Joplin.??? By the way, Janis's songs will corrupt you to the hilt and a just as much as money..

Got an idea on the song he wrote???

a hint...one of the lines is " sipp'n whiskey from a paper cup"
<<<

Don't quite understand your reasoning here. Character assassination? Joplin was no role model, never claimed this. But she was one of the great singers from that era. Kinda like how Jimmie Hendriks was one of the greatest/most influential guitar players of all time, but in other matters was a real loser...

The song is a real classic. Perfect fit for bogus televangelists. Still seems to fit one of the newer satellite Christian networks. Caught a program that looked like a clone of the old Jim & Tammy Bakker show. The woman of the show even had Tammy's makeup style! Didn't know whether I should laugh or cry...

Of course, the song doesn't fit someone like Billy Graham.
