I wonder if the folks who object to Mr. Greenspan's comments would have made a peep had those comments been bullish rather than bearish. I suspect not, and if not, then you're letting your portfolio's value make your judgements concerning the situation. Supply/demand will set stock prices, as evidenced by what the market did subsequent to Mr. G's irrational exhuberance comments when the market was about 30% lower. If you really think that comments in a speech are going to affect the value of your portfolio, perhaps you need to re-evaluate whether or not it's time to sell.
