P.S. I thought the following was a picturesque example of Newspeak worthy of the best. Gen. Pervez Musharraf, in his first speech since overthrowing the elected government of Pakistan said, "This is not martial law. It is only another path to democracy." Maybe the guy really meant it. Maybe Pakistan was on a path to democracy and not really there yet. From what I read, the guy might have planned for this as a contingency but did not time it. There was a lot of intrigue including making a plane run almost out of fuel to divert it to some small airport (too small for it) where some goons were waiting to arrest the recently ex'd General as soon as he returned to the country which he was in charge of defending. Does not smell of a real democracy....<VBG> to
