Actually, Microsoft says the recommended configuration for Win2000 Professional, which will be the primary "NT" version sold, should have 64MB. (Server versions are 256MB.)

I think the "low end" version is going to be called Windows 2000 Personal, and I'd expect that, since it replaces Win98, it will run OK with 32MB, and fairly well with 64MB. I would expect the Professional and Personal versions to account for 90% of the Windows market.

No doubt that 128MB for Professional will be an improvement, but that doesn't make it a "minimum" hardware requirement; for Personal, 128MB will likely be a luxury with minimal benefit, same as Win98.

If you have information that contradicts this, I'd welcome the opportunity to read it.
