Jimbo - Re: "Isn't there a ratio for RDRAM vs SDRAM? Approx?
Cheaper than SDRAM?"

I have heard 400/800 MHz RAMBUS DRDRAM may be 25% to 100% more expensive than PC100 SDRAM.

If SYSTEMS are faster with RAMBUS, then people who HAVE TO HAVE THE FASTEST will BUY RAMBUS SYSTEMS.

And that includes FORMER "potential" AthLON customers who discover that AThLONS are no longer worth the price since they would not result in the FASTEST SYSTEM anymore.

For the rest of the PC customers, they will buy MOSTLY what has served them well in the past - Intel-based systems with conventional SDRAM - and soon-to-be-cheaper-Coppermine-Pentium ///s.
