David and Hectorite,
I understand what you are saying regarding your concerns about the MSFT-CTXS relationship. But this CC was nothing new. They always address the same issues time and time again in the same manner.

For those that don't know, it's a very unusual relationship between the two. The revenue stream contribution that the MSFT royalty agreement brings is now down to 9% of sales. One year ago it was 15%. Kind of strange that CTXS develops products with MSFT that pretty much compete with themselves. It wasn't so bad in earlier releases of Windows, but with Windows 2000 it's not the case.

Windows 2000 has built in MetaFrame capabilities. But they say this is a positive for CTXS also. The reasoning goes, "the more customers try thin-client computing, the more they will ultimately turn to Citrix." But that doesn't really address the issue most are concerned with. If you keep building in MetaFrame components into Windows 2000, why are those customers going to be needing MetaFrame? I'm doing some pure guessing, but maybe it has something to do with load balancing.

Maybe CTXS is not helping MSFT with load balancing? And from what I understand, this really separated CTXS from MSFT previously. Here is some more information regarding this aspect:

Notice in my same post above, I don't think anyone figured out what, "application publishing," meant? Could that be a key difference?
