Wal-Mart eyes other EU markets - ASDA chief LONDON, Oct 19 (Reuters) - ASDA Chairman Archie Norman said on Tuesday that the company's parent Wal-Mart Stores Inc was looking at further European expansion, including France, but he said he could not comment on whether Wal-Mart had held talks with French retail group Casino . Norman, highly regarded in the industry, confirmed he was looking for a new role but intended to stay on at ASDA until the change of ownership of the suprtmarkets group had been smoothly completed. Norman has been linked in the UK media to rival supermarket J.Sainsbury Plc (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: SBRY.L) and troubled clothing chain Marks & Spencer Plc (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: MKS.L) but he said this was all speculation and he had not had any serious approaches from anyone.
