Toronto, Ontario, Oct. 19, 1999 (Market News Publishing via COMTEX)
-- ATI Technologies Inc. announced that Gateway has chosen the ATI RAGE
Mobility(TM)-M mobile graphics accelerator for the new Solo 2150 line
of price/performance leading notebook PCs.

The selection by Gateway of the RAGE Mobility-M furthers ATI's rise to
the top of the mobile graphics market worldwide as ATI's mobile RAGE
technology and the RAGE Mobility chip can now be found in systems of
nine of the top 10 notebook OEMs. The sister mobile chip to the
Mobilty-M, ATI's Mobility-P, can be found in Gateway's high performance
Solo 9300 notebook computer.

The ATI RAGE Mobility-M chip, along with 4MB of memory, will deliver
brilliant 3D, industry-leading 2D and best-of-class video acceleration
to the Solo 2150CS, which features an Intel(R) 400MHz Celeron(TM)
processor and 32MB of expandable SDRAM memory. The Solo 2150CL, with a
400MHz Celeron processor and 64MB of memory will also feature the RAGE
Mobility-M with 4MB of local memory.

"We are very pleased to be able to provide the Mobility-M to Gateway
for the Solo 2150 series as it demonstrates ATI has been able push our
leading mobile technology to the most affordable price point," said
Bill Henry, director of mobile component marketing, ATI. "The Solo 2150
series offers incredible value and the best graphics on the market
today."

The RAGE Mobility family: ATI the first to bring true desktop features
and performance to the notebook platform ATI RAGE Mobility graphics
accelerators are designed to deliver industry-leading 3D, 2D and
multimedia performance, and the most optimal balance of power and
performance functionality currently available in a mobile graphics
accelerator, packaged in a highly integrated, space-saving design.

RAGE Mobility accelerators feature a unique "single component graphics
sub-system solution" that replaces the need for over six individual
chips to provide memory and graphics functions. The single sub-system
design results in important component cost savings, and low power
consumption, twinned with long battery life for notebook computer
systems.
