B: COX Technologies Hires Manufacturing Expert to Supervise Opening of U.S.
 Production

BELMONT, N.C., Oct 19, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- COX Technologies (OTC
BB:COXT) Tuesday announced the hiring of James L. Dalton as Senior Vice
President of Operations and the opening of a new production facility in
Belmont where the corporate headquarters is located.

The new operation in Belmont will equal the production capabilities of
the company's original plant in Malmo, Sweden.

"We are strategically making Belmont our center of technical competence,
" said James L. Cox, chief executive officer of COX Technologies, "and
we are excited to have someone of Jim Dalton's caliber joining our
 team."

Dalton brings to COX Technologies a wealth of experience in high-speed
manufacturing, which will greatly enhance the production of the
 company's Vitsab(R) time-temperature integrator tags (TTIs).

Vitsab tags are self-adhesive biochemical labels that track the
time-temperature history of perishable commodities. Vitsab(R) meets the
time-temperature monitoring needs for seafood, meat, poultry, eggs,
fresh produce, prepared foods, pharmaceuticals, live plants and cut
 flowers.

Based in Belmont, COX Technologies has been providing time-temperature
management solutions for perishable commodities since 1976. It is an
industry leader in food safety technology and quality assurance systems
for all facets of the food industry.

Since 1970, Dalton has managed manufacturing and packaging operations
for a variety of companies such as Borden Chemical, Rexam Corp., Gulf
 Adhesives and Pak-Tec.

During that time, he has developed expertise in setting up and
supervising manufacturing sites, recruited and trained inside and
outside sales forces, maintained and developed suppliers and
distributors and consulted to R & D departments on priorities for
 product development.

"As we generate greater sales of Vitsab, having a U.S. manufacturing
presence will be a distinct advantage for COX Technologies," said
 Dalton.

Dalton is an economics graduate of North Carolina State University and
a master of business administration candidate at Queens College in
Charlotte, N.C. In addition to establishing production capability in
Belmont, Dalton will assist COX Technologies in securing domestic
 sources for raw materials.
