1. Gold in the Ground Is not equal to gold to pay back loans. What if gold goes up enough to make the losses on the forward sales/calls exceed their annual revenue and cash on hand? Will the counterparties sit back and relax knowing that "they'll get it all out of the ground in 4 years"? I think not. 2.
