Previously Unreleased Tracks from Soul Divas Vanessa Williams, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Gloria Gaynor, Vickie Sue Robinson and Others in Stores for Holiday Season
WILTON, Conn., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- This Holiday Season is the perfect time for musical gift giving and J-Bird Records has the perfect choice. Ladies of Soul is a compilation of previously unreleased versions of all time soul favorites from the ladies that have put soul music on the map. These tracks consist of a unique collection of treasures, recorded at the peak of these ladies' careers, but until now have been well hidden in their respective musical vaults -- awaiting resurgence.
Ladies of Soul includes tracks from the Soul Divas of this century or more appropriately, this millennium: VANESSA WILLIAMS, GLADYS KNIGHT, DIONNE WARWICK, GLORIA GAYNOR, VICKIE SUE ROBINSON and FREDA PAYNE are among the magical voices. This compilation is the perfect way to remember the ways in which these ladies have touched the lives of generations -- and a treat to pass on to future generations.

Included on Ladies of Soul are Dionne Warwick performing ''Don't Say I Didn't Tell You'' and ''Loving You Is just An old Habit'' which were recorded in 1973, immediately following her departure from the Scepter Label; ''The Last Goodbye'' and ''I Feel A Song In My Heart,'' recorded by Gladys Knight in 1976 just as the launch of her solo career began to take flight; Freda Payne's ''Sunday Kind Of Love'' and ''Bring Back The Joy,'' were also recorded in 1976, shortly after her departure from ABC Records; and former Miss America, Vanessa Williams, recorded ''One Of A Kind'' shortly after her stint as beauty queen and right before signing to a major label.
The 70's Disco era brought us the famed Gloria Gaynor and Vickie Sue Robinson whose classic hits ''I Will Survive'' (remade in the 90's by Cake) and ''Turn The Beat Around'' can still be heard all over the world today. On Ladies of Soul, you can hear them crooning their sweet sounds on ''Love Is Just A Heartbeat Away'' and ''Nighttime Fantasy.''
In addition, one can't ignore the luscious sounds of Jackie Moore and Maggie's Quiet Storm who contribute a re-make of the classic dance single ''This Time Baby'' and ''Love Goes Round And Round.''
