Colin,

To make it simple, I sold 2000 shares of xyz at 77 and bought back 1000 shares at the same price. My company has already withheld the tax from $30 per share gain which I obtained from the sale. Now I want to sell the 1000 shares for 10 point loss to offset some gains I earn this year. But I want to buy them back as soon as possbile, since they are my longterm holdings.

How can I do to avoid the washsale?

Iris
