Was it related to ADSL??? ++++++++ Alcatel Confirms Has SBC ADSL Contract, Shr Up 4.9% PARIS -- Alcatel SA (ALA) confirmed Tuesday that it has received a contract from SBC Communications Inc. (SBC) to supply asymmetric digital subscriber line equipment for SBC's $6 billion Project Pronto high-speed Internet service. An Alcatel spokesman declined to give financial details of the contract - estimated by market watchers at around $4.5 billion - but said Alcatel will be the sole supplier of ADSL and digital local loop carrier equipment for the service. Alcatel shares rose on the confirmation, up 4.9%, or EUR6.10, to EUR131.40 at 1238 GMT.
