That is an interesting article by Foley.

What intrigues me is that if, and it's a big if, NOVL sales are continuing to grow - year on year, quarter on quarter - Schmidt may feel that he really doesn't have a marketing crisis. And of course he would be right. Put yourself in his shoes, given the above scenario. He's probably saying..."what's the flap about? I keep meeting analysts estimates, I've got 20% growth, I've produced 6-7 consecutive quarters of growing profits, I've pumped out ten new products this year. So where's the marketing crisis? You mean Digitalme? That's just one product we're still in development on and you'll be seeing the first financial institution app next quarter. I'm not MSFT nor do I ever intend to be. I sell to the IT community and sales are very good. So what's the flap about?"

IMO, I believe the stock is in a slide because of perceptions re Windows 2000 and Y2K 4th Quarter concerns. I believe that NOVL will have a good quarter to report, and a good year as well and as soon as we get by this year-end junk, the IT community will continue to buy. Now, what the market believes is something else.
