Included in the article is the following:

"According to IDC, more than half the general purpose servers sold today are being used for file sharing or other infrastructure storage requirements."

Do you think this is an accurate statement? I've been trying to get an idea of just how many general purpose servers are being purchased for the purpose of filing. In an earlier Fool.com article, Dan Warmenhoven stated that the market size was approx. $9 billion. I read that the total server market (PC & entry, mid-range, high end Unix) market was $59 billion in 1998. These numbers and the above statement don't seem to go together. I'd appreciate your thoughts on these numbers and the actual potential market for NTAP filers.
