Bill, what kind of doublespeak is that? I think you're the one calling a tail a leg. Windsock is right. When the PC industry talks about retail, they definitely do not consider the direct channel as part of retail. If they did, AMD wouldn't have been able to claim the huge retail market shares that they boasted about until recently.

I think what you meant to say is that a sale is a sale, and AMD isn't losing any sales (theoretically) just because IBM is moving the Aptiva from retail to direct. In that case, I would agree with you. AMD won't be able to boast about retail market share anymore, but that's a moot point now that Intel has regained that share.
