This is incredible. Tht GE Power Systems Unit must have one heck of a backlog! They are getting new orders for NG turbines every week. The supply/demand curve for NG is going to be heavily skewed to short supply next year.
General Electric Wins $290 Mln in Texas Contracts
Fairfield, Connecticut, Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- General Electric Co.'s GE Power Systems unit, the biggest maker of natural-gas turbines, won contracts valued at almost $290 million to supply equipment and services to two Texas power projects.
The Lamar project in Paris, Texas and the Guadalupe Power project in Guadalupe, Texas, will each get four gas turbine- generators, two 200 megawatt steam generators, services and training. Both plants will produce 1,000 megawatts of power, enough to light about 1 million homes.
Lamar is being developed by a joint venture of FPL Group Inc.'s Florida Power & Light Energy unit and Dallas-based Panda Energy International, a closely held power-plant developer. The Guadalupe plant is being developed by a joint venture of PSEG Americas, a unit of Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. of Newark, New Jersey, and Panda Energy.
Equipment is scheduled to be shipped before the end of the year to the Lamar plant, which will begin operating in June. The Guadalupe project, which will begin operating in January of 2001, will get its equipment in the second quarter. |
