PHCM Exactly what I meant when I said it was not comfortable to short. It was too low and fell too much to short. If I were an excellent shorter I would have shorted when I sold my long position but its psychological, the market was rallying sharply and I saw other long opportunities that seemed less risky and infinitely cheaper. But I am learning now how to 'turn the chart around' and short when the stock is falling off its 'overbought' position but PHCM is not a stock to practice on.

A comfortable shorting trigger would depend on the 1, 5 or 10 minute chart (with an eye to the 45 or 60 minute chart).. The best times to short is not when the stock is tanking of course. It is when it has broken above the higher trend line and making its way down. On the other hand a breakdown of stock through support (going down) can be a free fall and also a good shorting opportunity (EXTR today)..but you need an uptick.. But a stock like PHCM that was basically languishing (or like the professionals like to say consolidating or in a trading range) is not good for either buying long or short. Its only when its made its move to go into an uptrend or breakdown that it becomes attractive. PHCM became attractive as it broke down through support but because of the volatility of PHCM always had ample upticks to enable to short... This for me was at the latter portion of the trading day.
