<Here I sit still wondering what was said, and the only CC info I can get comes from Stuart Steel and the Coach (not Coach Don, the other Coach).>

I was on the conference call last Thursday. I can confirm that Steele's summary of the call is accurate - that's a promise. However, I don't quite understand what he meant by this:

<1. All Rambus system ready (full speed ahead)>

Yes, everything is ready except for the damn Camino chipset with properly functioning motherboards. That's what this whole stinking problem is all about. There's plenty of infrastructure for the launch - RDRAM, RIMM's, etc.

Rambus didn't throw one curve ball throughout the whole call which lasted about 40 minutes w/Q+A. However, they did defend themselves by saying that through the whole Camino uproar just about everyone has forgotten about Carmel. Rambus seemed to be quite proud/upbeat about that chipset which will hopefully be introduced on Monday.

Rambus acknowledged that the ball is in Intel's court now and any confirmation must come from them. If you want to hear what Intel had to say go to this link and fast forward 38 minutes...it sounds like decent news.
