Agreed.

and will probably, in addition, have field failures in the 2-RIMM boards as well (in my opinion).

That's still the unknown at this point, whether they can get the relatively painless 2-RIMM "fix" to work reliably. If not, Rambus is dead. If yes, they have some life, at least until Intel's Capitula chipset* comes out next year.

* i.e. the SDRAM version of Camino
