This correction is hard to quantify. I don't recall an earnings time when tech stocks reported such good numbers and outlook and still tanked regardless. CYMI is in no better shape than others. TER from 41 to 32, COHU from 25 to 19, TXN drops five points on a good report.

I would be far more concerned if the earnings and outlook were mediocre. When the selling is done and people realize that bonds are not where they want to be in a rising interest rate climate, they will return to where the growth is. And its right back to the tech stocks.

The earthquake is being blamed for a whole lot of things. And yet I don't know of any semi-equipment company that they were being impacted financially.

I would be far more worried if earnings were just being met or beaten by a penny, but that is just not the case. Blowout earnings bring about a good hit on the stock. The rationality or lack of it eludes me.

Regards, Jerome
