I've heard arguments that each year the tax
loss selling begins earlier, and ends earlier--
and that the January effect is now expected
before the Holidays. I watched a few issues
last year that were under tax loss selling
pressure, and I could have bought them at their
lows right after Christmas, so I cant say that
I agree with that. All you can do is accumulate
over a few batches, I snagged my first third of
this critter on Tuesday. I used to have it in a fake
portfolio, bought a bit above $4, now I own it
for real closer to $3, I can live with that.
