Remember 'way back when NSI first acquired Answers.com and we wrote back and forth about how encouraging it was to see that the acquisition was through ideaLab! taking equity in NSI rather than simply cash? It indicated to me that ideaLab! saw great value in an NSI/Answers.com combo, and I was hoping only to see some other tangible notice that they were really invested in a big way in this partnership...

Well, this would be that!

Answers.com's exec team includes

Bill Fogg: involved for some time with ideaLab! and its various businesses, and an early indicator of ideaLab!'s interest in active involvement with NSI/Answers.com

And now

Mike Morrison: founder and VP Ops at HomePage.com, an ideaLab! company, involved in startup of other ideaLab! companies

Cynthia O'keefe: involved in the startup and build-out of KidsOnLine, an ideaLab! company

Tad Benson: involved in developing marketing for GoTo.com...an ideaLab! company

I'd say that this is a pretty good indicator of ideaLab!'s interest in active involvement and confidence this combination of NSI and Answers.com is going to go places, big time.

Notice, incidentally, that Cynthia O'Keefe's specialty is Executive Information Systems, gathering information from disparate sources and presenting it in a consistent, consolidated format for management to make critical business decisions in a timely manner. Doesn't this seem to tie in rather nicely with the NSI/Answers.com potential?

These people, with close ties to ideaLab! and Bill Gross (and many successful .coms), are a very powerful step forward, IMO.

Great news, NSI!
