An impression can be gathered from the two photographs of the artist by the artist at region.tu-clausthal.de (scroll to lower part). Cindy Sherman is a New York photographer and film director who experiments with faked body parts and her own body in order to raise awareness of restraining cliches about women and the female body in our sex-oriented mass-culture (as the laudatio said, but in German).

In different pieces: the laudatio said you should remember the 1977 block-buster film 'office killer' (who knows whether they are informed correctly on 1977 viewer statistics) and, more recently, there are photographed arrangements of garbage.

I mentioned her for the seemingly fractured female body in the right picture of both, that fitted your context. As you are interested: the ring's seal can be seen in the right hand upper corner of the web page. On the left hand there is the famous golden crow of Goslar's market well.

re: Franco - you are becoming picky and choicy about Cardenal - last week your attitude was still inclusive concerning him. And 'I suppose his
ideology would dictate his thoughts on the matter' - isn't that true for you also? I still hold that it is possible to criticize Franco when you are a Catholic, and maybe it is even your moral duty, or stated otherwise I am not so sure if I, as a Catholic, liked to be included in your statement of value for the dictator.
