Chairman Glenn Zagoren have returned from a successful Department of Commerce Trade Mission to the Middle East. Sanctioned by President Clinton, the mission
sought to encourage trade and investment opportunities for U.S. companies throughout the region. As the first ``dot com' e-commerce company ever to participate
in a Department of Commerce Mission, ProNetLink.com gained early entry into a key global trade market, meeting with top government officials, economic affairs
officers and business associations throughout Egypt, Israel, Gaza, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Secretary Daley and Mr. Zagoren had the honor of meeting with several international leaders to discuss e-commerce and the impact of the Internet on global trade,
including King Abdullah of Jordan, Palestinian Authority Chairman Arafat, Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid, Israeli Prime Minister Barak, Crown Prince Abdullah
Bin Abduladiz of Saudi Arabia, Israeli Minister of Industry and Trade Ran Cohen and Palestinian Minister of Economy and Trade Maher Masri.
In Egypt, Mr. Zagoren was present for the signing of a joint statement by Secretary Daley and Egyptian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Dr. Yousef Boutros
Ghali, committing both countries to promote the use of electronic commerce in Egypt. The joint statement set forth the following principles that should govern the use
of electronic commerce: private sector leadership, minimal government regulations and restrictions, duty-free treatment of goods of value and the promotion of
cooperation among all countries. The signing was covered exclusively by PNL-TV, the broadcast news division of ProNetLink.com, and will be aired at 11:00 AM

from Nortel Networks, Enron Corporation, Motorola and Lucent Technologies, among other companies, commended the progress made in liberalizing their
countries' economies. However, Mr. Daley underscored the need for more regional economic cooperation.
