there is (or was) a lot of foreign capital parked in US bonds and equities. Bonds are selling off. Stocks are followers. Even the entire population keeps pumping their retirement portfolios down the drain, they won't be able to do more than slow the flow. The trend is down, the question now becomes one of rate of decline.
