You're right, my sense of humor can get a little twisted. But I also think a weed that grows in all 50 states can't be regulated. With the asset forfeiture laws the way they are, police agencies have enormous power now. Like Ish pointed out, one plant can cost you your farm. There is a case in California where it now seems certain that plants were planted on a ranch by a sheriff, then the ranch was seized by that same sheriff. The author James Bovard has chronicled a veritable laundry list of horror stories like that in his book Lost Rights.

PS - Willie Nelson fired up a joint on a balcony of the White House when he performed at Jimmy Carter's inauguration ball. I wonder how asset forfeiture would have worked if he had gotten nailed?
