Anitech receives Maple Leaf Meat orders for data collection system
Anitech Enterprises Inc ANI Shares issued 18,711,474 1999-10-19 close $0.76 Wednesday Oct 20 1999 Mr. Paul Brown reports Maple Leaf Meats has ordered Anitech's new DT-500 data collection system for packing plants in Lethbridge, Alta., and Charleotown, PEI. This follows Maple Leaf's installation of the system at their Burlington plant last month. Anitech will provide these additional plants with Anitech's proprietary hardware and data collection software, and support services. With Anitech's system, Maple Leaf can use a desktop personal computer at a central location to collect critical real time production information from plants across Canada. Earlier this year, Anitech also sold a DT-500 system to J.M. Schneider Inc., a division of U.S.-based Smithfield Foods. The price of a DT-500 system (hardware and software) ranges between $85,000 to $350,000 per plant with additional annual fees for maintenance and service. Anitech recently announced that Best & Donovan will become Anitech's product distributor in the United States and other countries. Anitech will be at the American Meat Industry show in Chicago in two weeks with Best & Donovan. Anitech is a leader in data collection for the animal industry. Anitech's new DT-500 is a proprietary computer system that enables the meat industry to maintain information on individual carcasses and respond to growing concerns about disease. It facilitates faster production speeds; tracking disease, quality, and producer information; improved yields; and, compliance with new government regulations. Anitech's PetNet microchip ID system for pets is distributed at over 80 per cent of all Canadian veterinary clinics and over 400,000 pets are chipped and registered. Anitech also offers pet owners a PetNet Visa card in association with Bank One International. (c) Copyright 1999 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com
