Layoffs are going to happen but that is cutting the fat and should not be viewed negatively. When you have 140,000 employees reducing your workforce by 1000 is only cutting it by 0.7%. That is nothing. 3-5% is something to think about. People have no idea how big Lucent is. -Hitesh
