IBM will likely set the direction and pace for this market - I think this time it is for the down-side.

<<To all, keep an eye on IBM - since July of 1996 whenever the market was in trouble, IBM earnings release marked the 'rescue' for the market. In all but one of the last 8 quarters, IBM was bid-up heavily after the earnings release. Of all these, April earnings release takes the cake when IBM market cap was up to the tune of 25 bil in a single day.

I am thinking that a nasty surprise by IBM will be good enough to break the market. I am not that claiming that there is any sound logic to it, but this market kept rewarding IBM for its accounting wizzardy and when they realize all tricks have been exhausted, IBM will go down big and take the market with it! IMO, take it FWIW!>>
