"Difficult Run" is near where I used to live, but then there was "Frog Branch." Close to my new house is "Rabbit Branch" and "Long Branch." "Branch" seems more common than "run." Neither a run nor a branch look like more than ditches to me, though, I doubt they'd even have names in Louisiana. (Oh, there's another one, "doubt," native Virginians call it "doot.")
