With the volatility we've seen in the markets in 1999, it has turned out to be a great year for generating cash by writing puts. You can get very nice premiums for strike prices that are 30%-40% or more below their recent highs. In may instances, it amazes me that people pay the premiums for the puts I write (got $2 yesterday for INTC Dec 60 puts, now asking $1 3/8).
