OT Edamo: I didnt take it to be funny: I mean it...the problem is In April I was very wealthy : that would have been a good tome to get out of margin and sell stocks that were very risky. But instead I took it as a sign that I was a "good trader" and "good investor": I proceeded to have massive margin calls in May, lost a lot of money selling things I didnt want to at prices I didnt want to sell them..I switched to Brown, bless their hearts, they are very much more steady than Fidelity so I havent had margin calls. I got almost all my money back (gains and all) a week ago Monday. Another good time to get out of margin and sell weak stocks that were acting strong. But I didnt. Now I'm back to my lows of May-June (still up 15% for the year but very VERY demoralized)... No margin call...because I sold 2000 shares of DELL at 37 1/2 yesteerday expecting a big reaction to the warning news and I didnt want a margin call (not out of margin yet) Of course it went up... Everything I do was right, giving me confidence I obviously didnt deserve, now everything is wrong and I'm terrified of the market and not sure what to do. I was being serious: this is no joke... And of course I'm emotional which doesnt help and is making my normally cheerful nature very grouchy. I guess this is a warning to all other new investors but I'm not sure what the warning is!
