I asked a long list of questions to Vladimir Gardt this morning and I got the usual, cheery yet abrupt replies. Some main points I'm now rolling- over in my mind: 1. The company is still doing fine with operations in Khazakstan despite Alex and Birte not presently working for the company. 2. The strange address to SibMach printed over on RagingBull denotes a street 67, according to Gardt, and not suite or PO locker.
From what I know of the Russian address system, then. The address should go like this (if that address is correct): Russia, 625000 Tyumen Oblast, Tyumen Street 67 Sib-Mach Fond Vladimir Gardt
The company is located inside Tyumen city, while the operations are located outside of the city. --the mail carriers do not deliver through sleet, snow or hail to the top of your mountain like many of us in the US are accustomed to, especially not to Siberia, a place that has proportions approaching the size of Europe but infinitely more remote. Apparently Mr. Gardt and fellow staff when in Tyumen, are content to remain in the office, because, "since we are located there full time, it makes handling things easier." Mr. Gardt would be very pleased to give a full tour to someone who would like to go and visit the operations of Sib-Mach, just simply set an appointment. I have a Russian friend who is returning to visit family this year, and I think that I shall see if we can arrange something, --although that won't happen until Christmas break. |
