Keep the valuation in perspective:

Ariba is the leader in the largest segment of B2B ecommerce (operational resource procurement). B2B ecommerce is much much larger than B2C ecommerce. Amazon.com is the largest B2C player and it carries a $25b market cap (and I think its going a lot higher). Ariba at $8b isn't of concern to me. Maybe it goes to $5b on a market tank but so what, it will eventually go much, much higher if they execute.
