Jim - "retail" This question of sales tax seems to be a straw man in this discussion. When IBM moves its' PC sales on-line, does that constitute "retail" sales as reflected in retail sales #? When AMD has X% of the "retail" market, does that x% include Gateway and Dell? If it does, then IBM on-lines sales will be included in the retail numbers. If it doesn't, then direct sales are counted separately. As to why the industry keeps track this way, who cares. That is how the numbers are reported. It seems like a tempest in a teapot. :) Joe, hoping to buy some more INTC in the LOW 50's.
