KNOWLEDGE IS NOT SALVATION!
Shalom, this not directed to you. I didn't have a post of my own to reply to, I don't think.
There are many who I have talked with who don't distinguish between knowing about God and knowing God. There is confusion in their mind because they grewup in the church and have always attended. They subscribe to Christian teachings and see the benefits of them. Some, unfortunately, have never truly come to know Jesus. They know all about Him, but they don't know Him. What is even more important is that He doesn't know them because they have never been spiritually born. That is , no second birth, no entrance into the kingdom of God(His family). He has never become their Father.
The Apostle John was obedient to the Holy Spirit when he recorded for the world these words,
"John 1:12, 13 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."
A person doesn't become a child of God by any means other than by God Himself. He cannot inherit it by natural descent, He cannot get it because his parents want him to have it, he cannot get it because someone else wants him to have, he cannot get it because he serves in a church position, he cannot get it by being baptized, or by joining a church, or by attending a church, or by doing any other good works. The Bible is very clear about this. Here are the Scripture verses for those who are interested.
"John 3:1-5 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' "
Titus 3:5-7 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."
2 Cor 5:17,18 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ ...."
Rom 2:29 " ...circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter(of the law); whose praise is not of men, but of God."
Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
You must be born from above; you must be born again; you must be borm twice!
Jesus loves you, He died in your place, accept Him as your Lord and be happy forever.
