New York--Oct 20--Four top executives at USABancShares.com, an Internet bank hammered by investors this year, loaded up on their company's downtrodden stock earlier this month, spending a total of $1.29 million and boosting their individual holdings by 50%. According to The Washington Service, the executives acquired 191,200 shares of the Philadelphia bank on Oct 5 at 6 3/4, a 6-month low for the stock. Taking advantage of the sell-off, Chief Executive Kenneth Tepper bought 75,000 shares; Chief Financial Officer Brian Hartline acquired 41,000 shares; Chairman George Laughlin added 50,000 shares; and vice president Craig Scher added 25,200 shares.
