Joan, this tactic is widely used by most high tech companies and is a substantial part if not all of their "Other Income". They even play with this number to compensate for financial expenses.

INTC, CSCO, IBM, MSFT and other companies also benefited handsomely from this practice. Every time one of those companies declares stock buy backs that what is happening. Remember October 1997 - IBM huge share buy back??

A down drafting market will kill most of the profit growth in most all of those high tech companies.

But how they say seen no evil done no evil. It's liar poker stock manipulation and fraud.
