Pay attention to which chart it does it on also. I posted here about a year ago about the same problem. I simplified my layout until I was able to determine the one chart that was crashing my system. Once you know which chart it is, close Metastock, go to your downloader and delete the security out of there and reboot your machine. Once you are back up, add the security again, transport in new data or else if you are lucky and have the same security in another folder like a weekly or different style chart you can import the data and the problem should be gone.

I have had this problem a few times and this always cleared it. Everyonce in a while a data file gets corrupt throwing MetaStock into a loop and you just have to do a new chart after deleting the old one. I haven't had this happen sicne I went to a new motherboard which replaced an old one that turned out to have a bad memory slot. You may want to check your machine out for a memory chip that is going out or a bad motherboard.

Good Luck,

Lee
