Looks as though LU's OEMing their ADSL solutions from EFNT. This has to affect their margins. Would they be likely to eat the difference and make it up in some other part of the network?

Pat, I'm not too familiar with the EFNT product line, but a quick look at their website shows they only supply CPE. LU doesn't focus here at all, except perhaps with some DSL favors of the old ASND Pipeline products, perhaps. But even this would be be "high end" CPE. I'd guess that LU would compatibility test the EFNT CPE with its own DSLAM and "DSL outfitted" switches, and use this as their total carrier solution.

I have ADSL though Bellsouth. I know they use an all Alcatel offering. Alcatel DSLAMs and Alcatel 1000 CPE DSL modems. The point is, a DSL CPE modem is not like an analog modem at this point in time. Bellsouth supplies the modem, which they guarantee to work with their DSLAMs. I'm sure LU, and all other DSL equipment providers are doing the same thing.
